Jennifer Black joined Tortoise Capital in 2017 and serves as Senior Vice President of Operations. She oversees all operational areas of the firm, including SMA operations, fund operations, tax functions and data strategy and analytics.
Jennifer previously led the tax functions for Tortoise Capital’s registered fund offerings, including closed-end funds, mutual funds and exchange-traded funds. Before joining Tortoise Capital, she was a manager at KPMG LLP, where she focused on tax planning for partnerships and corporations. Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Accounting from the University of Kansas. She is also a certified public accountant (CPA).
